Best Practice for Integration of Technology

Picture
Marzano, Pickering and Pollock (2001) examined decades of research to find the teaching strategies that have the most impact on student learning.  They identified nine strategies that have the "highest probability of enhancing student achievement for all students in all subject areas at all grade levels."

In 2012, these strategies were revisited by McREL International's Dean, Hubbell, Pitler and Stone to be updated for the 21st Century.  The same strategies were identified as central but combined into three focus areas.

This website is designed to facilitate the integration of technology with these strategies to improve student learning.

21st Century Teaching and Learning

What do we know about learners, teaching and technology?

Instructional Strategies

The nine instructional strategies have been identified and regrouped by Dean, Hubbell, Pitler and Stone (2012) based on current research.
Focusing on these strategies to improve learning while matching pedagogy, content, and technological knowledge, allows a focus on teaching and learning that includes technology.
