Reinforcing Effort and Providing Recognition
Data Collection and Analysis Tools

Data collection and analysis tools support students in gathering "collective wisdom" in regards to a topic.  When feedback is connected to effort or followed by recognition, students can see the connections and build positive self-efficacy.

Data collection tools allow teachers to share rubrics, surveys, and even student work in an electronic format.  This allows additional feedback options including comments and the synthesis of the results into tables for analysis over the year and even over time.
- Create separate surveys related to effort, with a focus on relating data on success to effort.  Collect longitudinal data to share with students that clearly connects previous students success to positive attitude and effort.  Some tools will automatically generate charts, but other tools will require manipulation of a spreadsheet.
