Social Bookmarking Tools

Social bookmarking is a method to organize, store, manage, search, and share bookmarks of resources online.  "Tagging" is a common social bookmarking feature which allows users to organize their bookmarks in flexible ways.  Social bookmarking differs from file sharing, in that the resources are not actually shared.  What is shared are the bookmarks that reference the resources.  Many social bookmarking sites also inlcude bookmarklet tools which can be added to a Favorites bar for easy tagging.  A number of social bookmarking sites have gained poularity over the past few years.
